Dr. Erin M. Smielewski graduated with honors from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She then completed four years of Podiatric Medical School and graduated at the top of her class from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. She completed a 3-year surgical residency program from Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago that combined rotations with Midland Orthopedics, MacNeal Hospital, Mercy Hospital wound clinic, and outside podiatric clinics. Through these institutions, she has completed rotations in Podiatry and Podiatric Surgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Room Medicine, Infectious Disease, Radiology, Endocrinology and Wound Care, to name a few. She has performed many forefoot and rear foot surgeries and is also certified to perform ankle arthroscopy through surgical training. Dr. Smielewski has extensive experience and training from Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in General and Diabetic Wound care, Limb Salvage, and Infectious Diseases. She is a member of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, American Podiatric Medical Association, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. |
