MEDICAL NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY

Massage Therapy is a type of physical therapy modality with a hands-on technique that involves applying sustained pressure and other manual techniques onto the various connective tissues of the body where restrictions, trigger points, muscle damage, and tendonopathies are present. These techniques help eliminate pain in damaged or overused tissues, and restore motion back to the joints, muscles, fascia and other connective tissues. There are many conditions that will benefit from Myofascial release and other neuromuscular techniques. Many conditions especially long standing conditions and injuries may cause alignment problems due to compensation or limping within the lower extremity. Deep tissue therapies will help to alleviate these compensation patterns and coupled with other PT therapies we offer in the office, the patient can become pain free again.

We offer this and other techniques at our office, including Cupping, Trigger point therapy, Graston trained, Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (ASTYM). These techniques can be used in a variety of ways during a patient’s individual session. The doctor and therapist will work hand in hand to determine the best technique, frequency, and combination therapy for the injury or condition present.

Intensive Deep tissue massage: Directed towards specific areas of tension, this massage
will combine sports massage, with Graston and ASTYM techniques to work on specific
trigger point issues, and chronic problem areas. This will help to restore range of
motion, and circulation to the affected areas. This is a great massage for our athletes of
all levels.

Lymphatic Drainage: Our certified therapist will help to stimulate the lymphatic system to enhance better fluid flow and reduce swelling in the lower legs and feet. Self- instruction techniques will be shown to also improve swelling after the massage.
