Although very subtle at times, the nutritional integrity of each patient is very important for good physical, mental and emotional health.

We want our patients to be well-informed about their conditions and treatment decisions. Discussion and education about the root cause of the patient's diagnosis will help to prevent future reoccurrence.

Our goal is a happy and healthy patient.

Nutritional Testing

Although very subtle at times, the nutritional integrity of each patient is very important for good physical, mental and emotional health. When compromised poor nutrition may predispose a patient to acute injury, or prevent recovery from a chronic injury. When patients have chronic illness, poor immune response, recurring injury patterns, and slowed recovery times, nutritional evaluation is relevant.

Dr. Schoene has a keen interest in nutrition, as she regularly attends nutritional and functional medicine conferences and lectures. Evaluating the patient’s health history and using the physical exam, she may make some suggestions outside of the traditional orthopedic treatments. After review, she will discuss diet, and supplements with patients.

Many conditions that are treated in the office can be improved by making adjustments to diet, sleep habits, managing stress levels, taking supplements and adding exercise to the daily regimen.

Our office offers complete regular and intracellular nutritional testing for a look at true vitamin and mineral levels in the body.

One of our specialized laboratories also has extensive Lipid profile testing that, analyzes the traditional HDL and LDL and triglyceride testing into deeper more detailed reviews..

This test is important for anyone who has metabolic syndrome, Diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or who has a strong family history of heart disease.

This special lab and testing uses the patient’s whole blood cells rather than traditional serum testing. Evaluating the various lab tests we use, can allow us to make proper suggestions on diet and supplementation, and to help the patient attain long term nutritional recovery.

In addition to nutritional testing, there are other lab tests and values that we can use to help us evaluate for autoimmune, inflammatory, arthritic and even hormonal conditions.

We should all strive for correct body homeostasis (self regulation mechanism), but when the body’s systems become unhealthy, there is potential for acute and chronic diseases.

We will evaluate, make suggestions, and consult with other physicians you may be working with.

We stock many supplements, essential oils, homeopathic medicines, and other items for a complete holistic care program.

Together, we can take the steps to make changes to overall health, wellness, and longevity.
